Welcome!
My name is Trent Savage. I am a Health and Physical education teacher at Peachtree Middle School. I am very excited about the opportunity to work with you and your children. As I am sure you do, I have very high expectations of your child and of myself. I will work hard to create an environment that allows students to actively engage in worthwhile learning.
I am a product of Dekalb County Schools. After attending Chamblee Charter High School, I attended Georgia Perimeter College and then transferred to the University of Georgia. I studied Social Studies Education and received a Bachelors of Science in Education from the University of Georgia. I am certified to teach social studies in grades six through twelve, early childhood education in grades P-5, and health and physical education in grades K-12.
Throughout the course of the year, we will follow the state and county standards. The standards will serve as a guide, rather than an endpoint for our classroom. They will help us to see how well the students progress and learn throughout the year. Students will be engaged in cooperative learning with myself, as well as with their peers.
As in most classes, I will push your child mentally and physically. The challenging activities that students will participate in during P.E. will help to build self-confidence. My goal is for the self-confidence gained in P.E. to be carried into the classroom and other areas of life, helping our students to achieve more overall.
Again, I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with you and your child. To create a positive learning environment, I believe there needs to be collaboration and communication between the parents and the teacher. Please feel free to contact me to set up a conference or if you simply have questions, concerns, and/or would like to share "a-ha" moments. I am available via e-mail at [email protected]. I will check my email daily.
Sincerely,
Trent Savage
